By Joe Hermitt
The Penn State football program's seventh annual "Lift for Life" will take place Friday, July 10 at Holuba Hall, located directly across from the East Area Locker Room and adjacent to the Lasch Football Building on the PSU campus.
The Uplifting Athletes Web site offers a roster of participants as well as how much money each player has raised. The total so far, according to the site, is $34,548.
Members of the Nittany Lions football program will be put through 11 physical tasks such as the bench press, leg press, tire flip and iron cross in a contest aimed to raise money for the Kidney Cancer Association. "Lift for Life" is open to the public, with suggested donations of $5 for students and children and $10 for adults.
Founded by Penn State football teammates in 2003, "Lift For Life" continues to build awareness and raise funds for the Kidney Cancer Association. Uplifting Athletes is 501(c)3 national nonprofit organization that aligns college football with rare diseases and raises them as a national priority through outreach, research, education and advocacy.
